This is a series of 8” × 8” sugar "tiles" installed in various locations, primarily on homes, in the area of Vijayanagar in Bangalore. The image depicted is of a highrise condo building, inspired by newspaper ads and billboards that litter the urban landsape. The format of the iconic image on a tile is referential to ceramic tiles of deities that are frequently seen on homes, gates and city walls throughout India.
