Ancient Remains

Harmony Art Foundation Sculpture Symposium - 2007 (Navi Mumbai, India) December 15, 2007 - January 15, 2008.

Mimicking the appearance of ancient architectural ruins, such as those of the Roman era, this work is intended to represent the ruins of the future. In an era that is filled with disposable products and run by a throw away culture, what kind of legacy are we leaving behind for future generations to find? When faced with the parameters of working with permanent materials, contrary to the artist’s usual methods of working, she began investigating the whole notion of permanence in today’s culture as well as waste.

This work is the property of the Harmony Art Foundation and is currently displayed at the Reliance Industries Headquarters in Navi Mumbai.
Work in progress.
